Botond Csiby-Gindele is a Transylvanian graphic designer whose work combines geometric and organic forms with modern minimalism and folk-art roots, creating a powerful and timeless visual language with a strong and expressive identity.
A significant part of his practice focuses on animal representations, where his primary concern is capturing the essential formal qualities of animals, often reducing them to an almost logo-like simplicity. He depicts animals as formal masses, examining rhythm, repetition, symmetry, the interaction of positive and negative space, and planar relationships. Through varied movements and postures, he seeks to convey not only form, but also the character and temperament of the animals.
The animals also serve a decorative function, operating simultaneously as visual motifs and autonomous graphic elements. His works explore the balance between structure, tradition, and contemporary visual language, resulting in playful yet rigorously constructed compositions.
